Spencer questions the Finance Minister why the BC Government is making it more expensive for families in BC to afford clothing

June 2, 2010

“From restaurant meals to the tourism sector, the HST betrayal will hurt British Columbians every step of the way. Now we learn even used clothing is going to become more expensive under the HST. Starting July 1, stores like Value Village, stores like Salvation Army will be forced to charge their customers an additional 7 percent.

To the Finance Minister: why are B.C. Liberals making it more difficult for B.C. families to purchase affordable reused clothes?"

Spencer asks why when the BC Government is marking up the price of beer and wine in BC

May 25, 2010

“If you go to a liquor store, the government is marking up the price, yet they claim that people will cost on the savings. Will the minister tell this House if the government actually isn't marking up the price and that somehow we've got it wrong? Or are they just trying to gouge B.C. taxpayers with yet another cost through a different hand in a different pocket?"
